Upcoming September events and Lace Up exhibit hosted by the Musée

The month of September will see many exciting events happening in St. Albert.

Lace Up: Canada's Passion for Skating

Musée Héritage Museum is excited to present Lace Up: Canada's Passion for Skating. This travelling exhibit, produced by the Canadian Museum of Civilization, explores the history of skating in Canada, with emphasis on three major sports: figure skating, speed skating, and hockey. This exhibit explores our love of ice sports and the mark that skating has left on our national identity.

Also included are memorabilia from local sports greats who all skated in St. Albert before attaining national and international fame, such as Joe Benoit, Eddie Joyal, Mark Messier, Jerome Iginla, Meagan Mikkelson, Troy Murray and Olympic speed skater Tamara Oudenaarden.

Lace Up runs until November 3, 2013. Please come join us at the Musée on September 12, 2013 at 7pm for the official opening reception.

Historic Walking Tour

Join us for our last Historic Walking Tour of the season on September 12. Our education programmer will lead the tour through downtown St. Albert. The tour begins at the Little White School (2 Madonna Drive, St Albert) at 6:30 pm. Please come enjoy the historic buildings, photographs, and grand stories of our city!

Harvest Festival

The Harvest Festival takes place on Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 12-4 pm at the St. Albert Grain Elevator Park. This year will feature live music, games and children’s activities and a mini-market. The afternoon will also feature grain related fun, such as beer tasting!  Our interpreters will also take you on a guided tour of two of Alberta’s provincially designated grain elevators.

Please contact the Musée at 780-459-1528 or museum@artsandheritage.ca if you have any questions about our events this month.
